3 in 1 Exciting Events at World Trade Centre!


Friday the 16th was a hectic day for IHCTM Director Subhash Motwani and his talented team of 10 faculty members. Together they had organized 3 events at the Vista, 30th floor of World Trade Centre , Mumbai. Here is all about the exciting events :


1] It was a Business Orientation training for more than 85 students who were completing a workshop module “Travel Agency Operations ” in their “Compact Travel and Tourism“ course with CRS. 

The occasion was graced by 2 top persons - Mr. Amr Elhefny Elfeky, Regional Manager (India) for Egypt Air and Mr Samy Mahmoud, Tourism Counsellor, Egyptian Tourism.


They appreciated and applauded the excellent presentation by Bhavya on “What to see” in Egypt and how to make it great through “Compact way” the customized FIT plans from Compact Travels - an associate of IHCTM. 

The guidance on how to make it big in Tourism and travel field and start one’s own tour company was of great value. Those present were all praise for the expertise of Subhash and in depth practical training at IHCTM. The session lasted for 3 hours. 


2] The next event was a FREE career talk. 

It was an enthusiastic audience of over 100 participants - keen to get valuable guidance from the industry expert. Subhash who besides being the Chief Faculty has also completed 22 IATA qualifications. He explained at length the multiple opportunities in Airlines as well as the Travel and Tourism field and allied industries such as Cargo and Freight Forwarding.


Participants were also given handouts comprising of brochures on various career opportunities. Also extended was further help for getting personalized career plan by appointment. The journalists present were amazed at the expertise and level of training offered at IHCTM. They had interacted with students from routine institutes but found standards and quality of training at IHCTM far superior. The career talk started at 1.45 pm and concluded by 3.30 pm with an interactive question & answer session.


3] The 3rd event was the Diploma Awarding Function - the most exciting of them all as 147 students who had successfully completed their IATA / UFTAA (Travel) and IATA / FIATA (Cargo) qualifications were awarded Diplomas. The major highlights of the function was the exceptional results of the IATA/FIATA courses where 41 out of 92 candidates scored a distinction (over 90%) and 100% success was recorded by the IATA/UFTAA Management students with over 60% of them getting a distinction.


The chief guest of the function was Captain P. P. Singh- Regional Director, Air India. He gave an encouraging speech with valuable tips to the airline aspirants. He was amazed to see a wide mix of students, some of them senior in age and experience, some of them entrepreneurs and a large number of them who had taken their first step to entering the airline industry by successfully completing their IATA/UFTAA and/or IATA/FIATA qualification. 


He especially appreciated “IHCTM” quality as found out from his first hand observation of students who have worked as trainees in Air India and their performance has helped many more in getting such training opportunities with the national carrier.


Some journalists who attended this function admired involvement of Subhash and his team, though they had worked with zeal and dedication for the entire day and were still enthusiastic and fresh to help, encourage, guide and inspire the youngsters. They also appreciated the participation of industry stalwarts who attended the events and encouraged the new generation.Thus it was a memorable day for which students look forward year after year.
