MODULE I - 
ELEMENTS OF DESIGNING AND FASHION FORECASTING

This module covers the basic principles and concepts in the field of Fashion. To be in tune with the markets, perception is important and here is where the knowledge of fashion forecasting would come handy.

MODULE II
DRESSMAKING (including Tailoring and Pattern Making)

Tailoring and Pattern Making are essential to work out the intricate details of material required for designing a garment. The designer can work out appropriate pricing after adding to their profit margin. Most institutes offering fashion designing courses emphasize only on Fashion Illustration or Elements and neglect the vital aspect of Dressmaking. As a result, you have more Illustrators and they are incapable of designing independently as they have no knowledge of Dressmaking. At IMFAA, our course trains you to become a full fledged designer and not a mere Illustrator. Hence, Dressmaking is an integral part of the Diploma course.

MODULE III    FASHION ILLUSTRATION


A Fashion Illustrator basically is the creator who with his innovative ideas and latest trends of market, designs the perfect style to suit an individual. It is the most interesting and fascinating module of the Diploma course as your creativity is brought out to work on creations passing through various stages right from drawing on paper to making of croquis and colour rendering. Many persons have made it big in the field of fashion because of their magnanimous illustration skills. An Illustrator has to co-ordinate with the dress designer to make the perfect fit for the perfect figure and convert his dreams into reality.

MODULE IV
FASHION MERCHANDISING AND INTERNATIONAL MARKETING


For any successful business, the key word is coordination. Improper coordination leads to hazardous consequences and here the role of a Fashion Merchandiser becomes indispensable. From planning, purchasing, movement and control of materials right up to designing a perfect outfit can be nullified without a Fashion Merchandiser. Hence, you are made to understand in detail your role to be a successful Fashion Designer.

Another important aspect, especially with competition and high volumes of exports in garments is the knowledge of right marketing strategies. There have been many creative designers who have not been able to succeed because they lack knowledge of Marketing. At IMFAA, it is our objective to make you a successful and complete Designer equipped in all departments. International Marketing is elaborately discussed for you to implement the same when you enter the exciting field of International Fashions.

MODULE V    EMBROIDERY 

No fashion garment is complete without decorative Embroidery, especially the ethnic and oriental kind. Now even western outfits are finding added appeal through touch of Embroidery. No doubt, this well treasured art is gaining place in elite apparels. Keeping this in mind, once again, IMFAA is the first institute to introduce a full fledged module on comprehensive study of Embroidery to include not only learning of techniques of Hand Embroidery but also to experience the richness in all possible styles and types from different states in India.

With the advent of computers, today’s Fashion Designer should know how to use computer as a tool for illustration and pattern making purposes. IMFAA’s Computer Aided Fashion Designing module is ideal for those who have completed Fashion Illustration and Dressmaking to enable them to understand the intricate details of Designing on Computers.

• Introduction to Windows & Computer Designing
• Reading of Menus
• Using tools such as pick, zoom, box, circle, shape, outline and fill tools
• Corel Show for presentation of portfolio through Computers
• Project Work - designing traditional and western layouts for casual, formal as well as party wear
• Colour Rendering
• Pattern Making and Dress Designing

On Completing Modules IV, V & VI you are eligible for ADVANCED DIPLOMA in FASHION DESIGNING

On successful completion of all the six modules including projects and examinations, students will be awarded a DIPLOMA IN ADVANCED FASHION DESIGNING from IMFAA.
 
 
   
 

FASHION ORIENTATION COURSE

A Fashion Workshop for New Entrants


This course will help you gauge your aptitude and creativity and assess whether you are really cut out for a career in Fashion. Once you have completed this course and discovered that you have an aptitude, you are eligible to enrol directly for the Diploma in Fashion Designing offered by IMFAA and be on your way to succeed in the Fashion Industry and be "one-up" in the evergrowing competitive world of creativity.

This Orientation course is most suited for anyone who wishes to have an insight and foundation into the field of Fashion. Besides giving you a thorough insight in the Fashion World and its requirements, you also learn about the latest trends in Fashion and make better choice of garments for yourself and for others too.
