Happy Days Are Here Again

Snow Days… Winter Days…. End of Semester … No more Teachers, No more books!

Whatever you call it, it's vacation time for most of us. The official start of summer this month will be welcome break for students and teachers. The summer season is a blessed one, during which people harvest what they have sown and those who worked hard get the fruits of their efforts. Weddings, celebrations, shopping and travel increase during this season. Children welcome this season - the summer vacation, as it brings rest from work, more holidays and fun.

Would you like your child to spend summer vacation watching television every waking moment for two months? Of course not ! Infact most parents would not want their kids to have a “Dumber Summer” by letting precious time eroded in wasteful activities. They would rather use summer vacation as a chance to help children to learn new skills in fun way and explore new interests and activities.

Making vacation fun and a rich learning experience however requires “Planning by Parents.” Here are a few ways your child can shine this summer.

1. Nurture an interest in reading: Reading is one of the important activities your child can engage in. Through reading, children can develop new vocabulary, learn new things and explore interesting places. In addition, they can improve reading skills, their language, pronunciations and much more. Find the stacks of children's magazines and take some home for fun reading. Encourage them to visit library they will learn valuable skills and lessons.

2. Developing power of communication: Engaging in communication with your children is fun and education especially if the discussion encourages child to think about ideas, exercise memory, and encourage communication. Communication with your children on different topics will give you an opportunity to read their mind which otherwise is very difficult. Communicate with your child about the T.V programmes they watch, their likes and dislikes, what they learned and remembered. This will give you an ides of their grasping power.

3. Art of writing: Parents can encourage children to write. Writing can be fun and informative, besides developing it as skill. Writing skills will help your child to become more confident and enthusiastic. Encourage your child to write something on their favourite topics, encourage them to write daily journals.

4. Interesting activities: Last but definitely not the least, engage your child in interesting activities like learning Calligraphy, Computers, Cartooning - Caricature, a new language, hand writing, drawing, etc.

Parents remember, your hand is on the remote control. Use it wisely and you'll change your child's channel to a smarter summer. Understand their need to explore and talk to help them, to practice in fun ways. So that “lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer” become opportunity to turn your child to a smarter kid this summer time.

(The right choice for hobby classes is “RBCS”.
RBCS is an acronym for Radio Bhuvan - the Career Supermarket. It was started in 1954 by the founder Director Mr. Shyam Motwani. Now after 50 years of continuous development it is doing more and more to cater new age training in new fields. RBCS gives a wide choice of courses extending 1 week to 1 year and most important is that RBCS imparts “Quality education for global success.”

I strongly recommend the courses at RBCS as I've myself been trained, groomed and guided in Journalism with personal care and excellent teaching just in 4 months at IMFAA - an RBCS associate.)
