Life Saviour (saver) !

In an article in “Midday”, to help people decide whether to invest in a gadget or not, the writer gave an interesting idea for making the decision. He said that every 100 rupees you earn has taken time to make it. This time spent on earning is part of one's life. So according to money one spends for a flashy car or a costly mobile, one should work out how much part of one's life is spent on earning that kind of money. Would one get sufficient return in terms of pleasure, facility, convenience or comfort to justify the kind of investment required or would a simpler substitute serve the purpose? Well, indeed a great idea for decision making on luxury purchases !

Think of investment put in pursuing a course, career or even education abroad. It is much higher than what you spend for a gadget or gizmo. So we must apply our mind to make right choice and take a right decision.

It is observed that many a time people make “selection” of career, course or even institute in a jiffy without realizing it requires a greater understanding, survey and analysis for right selection than needed in buying a gadget. This is because in case you don't like a gadget or later on feel it is not worth its value, you can exchange it or even sell it at lower price and buy another one. Can one come out so easily from wrong choice of course or institute where one has not only paid precious dough-the part of one's life, but also “precious” time-the part of life which cannot be got back? So it goes without saying that one must exercise utmost care, vigil and do search and research in selecting a suitable career as well as choose the right institute for your career training.

Right way to go about is that, one must look out for maximum options, keeping in mind one's aptitude, ability, strengths and need before being carried away by high pressure sales talks coming in the garb of counselling or being drifted into the wrong course or career.

One should take special care when there are offers of scholarships, loans and guarantees. Remember scholarships are superficial reductions on excess fees charged. And loans are arranged to get immediately your full fees which you have to repay with interest for years to follow.

Stop being carried away by so called MBA or other qualification abroad without verifying their value or validity. When you are in such a situation, right solution is to look out for getting vocational qualifications to help you to take up a job and pursue higher qualification along with a job so that you keep on growing as well as get experience too. This is your Life Saver or Saviour in this confusion of too many offers and too many benefits.
