The Magic Cure for Cough

Cough can be a very useful reflex if the air passages are blocked by mucus or a foreign body.
However Cough can be divided in 2 categories:

1) Productive cough - which produces sputum. It may be a symptom of asthama, bronchitis, pneumonia, tuberculosis, influenza, cold etc. (If there is blood in the sputum, consult the doctor to rule out the possibility of tuberculosis or Lung cancer).
2) Unproductive cough may be due to smoking, tonsillitis, inflammation of larynx, long uvula etc. (IMP: Unproductive cough should be suppressed, productive one should be encouraged).

Treatment of Cough

Press following points twice a day, 2-3 minutes each:

Point no. 1: Midway between the knee and the ankle, 2 fingers lateral (outside) to the tibial shin. (front bony ridge of the long bone of the leg).

Point no. 2: 2 fingers above the outer end of the wrist crease. (thumb side).

Point no. 3: Midway between the nipples, on the sternum (breastbone).

For dry cough, massage gently at point 3 for symptomatic relief. As explained above the treatment is desirable in case of productive cough.
