Every February 14th, something magical happens in the lives of people around the world. Because it's Valentine's Day, they take the time out of their busy
schedules to stop and smell the roses to make the people they love feel special.

A day where greeting cards, flowers, gifts, chocolates are given to all loved ones. The Valentine's Day is steeped in the concept of love and laying one's life for those who are loved.

This day is grandly celebrated in western countries. Approximately 1 billon Valentine's Day cards are sent each year. The Chocolate Manufacturer's Association of America says that 36 Million of chocolates are sold for Valentine's Day. Hold your breath as it is found that Valentine's Day is the most popular day for men to buy cards. Several colleges have rose day which is celebrated in a grand scale. Huge celebrations, auctions of bouquets are held in an unexplained environment and finally a grand day - a day where girls act as Juliet and guys act as Romeo.

In the Middle Ages, young men and women drew names from a bowl to see who their Valentine would be. They would wear these names on their sleeves for one week. To wear your heart on your sleeve now means that it is easy for other people to know how you are feeling. The communication during this day among lovers is only through eyes, as eyes are the mirror of one's heart which shows the depth of love for each other. The couples who are married since long years also enjoy Valentine's Day in their own special way by remembering golden days, expressing feelings and respecting likes and dislikes of the spouse.
