Fitness is the first factor for living life. Fitness as first priority or “fitness first” should be the motto of any one who wants to live the life. Exercise is the first

tool. Continuous research in China, Japan and now Korea has established that there is a “body energy system” reaching each organ, every part of body. The first
cause of ill health is damage in “energy supply system”. This first energy supply defect can be diagnosed by corresponding switch or point located along
“energy route” on our body. In Chinese system these “energy routes” are called meridians. The points on meridians can be identified for each organ and

When any disorder or disease occurs, a sense of pain is felt on touching or pressing the point. The healing process requires to keep the point
pressed and this is called acupressure. Sometimes instead of pressure a needle is inserted to a small depth at the point. This inserting of needle is called
puncture-hence the word “acupuncture”, “accu” stands for point, the process of puncture or pressure utilized is given the name accordingly as acupuncture
or acupressure.

Coming back to role of exercise, any physical exercise involves movement causing certain pressure at various parts or points of the body. The pressure so
caused has a healing effect where a part or organ is diseased, while in case of a healthy part, the pressure stimulates the point to keep the part or organ
energized, fit and healthy. This simple logic makes it scientifically clear how and why exercise helps fitness. The simplest form of exercise is “walking.” People
who walk regularly have benefit of getting “healing” or “keeping fit” pressure on various parts and organs of body leading for fitness as well as cure. Yoga,
bodybuilding, aerobics, various forms of martial art have a similar effect. So whatever be your age, sex, activity, following any system of “exercise for fitness”
should be your first duty since now you know how and why exercise is important for fitness!
