Student of the Month  - Shweta Vaity

Coming from a middle class family, Shweta wanted to be self reliant and help her family too. Her dad owns an auto, her mom is a housewife and her younger sister is pursuing her BSc.

After completing her H.S.C with science, Shweta wanted to follow the “new-age” mantra of “earning & learning.” So first thing she did was to enroll for graduation by correspondence. Next she launched her hunt for careers. She narrowed down her choice to hospitality industry. This was for two reasons, firstly it is her favourite field and secondly it helps one as supporting background for selection in a cabin crew job.

She opted for an intensive course so that she could complete her “Diploma in Hotel Management” just in 6 months instead of 1 year thus having 6 months extra for job or work experience. She was selected as a trainee with Kamat Group of Hotels to work in “Orchid”. After completing her training she would start working as a regular staff. Choice of right institute enhanced her operational skills and her confidence to be selected for a prestigious job.

She is proud to have chosen IHCTM - an RBCS group associate. This is because not only RBCS is an organisation of 51 years repute but also it is renowned for its quality education in more than 100 careers. She is happy that she chose an institute that not only makes you well versed in various departments but also gives practical training. Among non-government courses, this is the only course that has in-house excellent practical arrangement including Cookery, Bakery and Bartending. At IHCTM, she has also the advantage of qualifying from City & Guilds (U.K).

Shweta is a simple unassuming girl. Her hobbies are like those of any youngster of today - reading, dancing, and travelling. Of course her favourite hobby is cooking that's why she is going to be in the kitchen at the hotel too.

Her story should inspire many a youngster that one can pursue a hi-fly career, finish learning early that too at an affordable cost without bothering for bank loans and have an advantage of work experience also. Opportunities Today wishes her the best of achievement in her career.
