Traditions help!

Talking of riches, let's look across seven seas. In Antwerp, Belgium 300 Indian families control more than 60% of Diamond business amounting to billions of dollars. Let's see how did it all happen.

In this business what is most important is trust, integrity, commitment and honesty. One can therefore totally rely on one's own family. This is how business of diamonds where know-how of generation is passed on has grown because of joint family tradition where each member is bonded through family bond. A father passes on know-how to his son whom he can blindly rely for values, traditions and commitment. An outsider or an employee may not come upto the mark in faithfulness and dependability whereas one's own kith and kin would. The tradition of “joint family” has been a boon to the growth of this business. Besides the family bonds, the family occupation promises security, support and prosperity and helps keeping the tradition of being together unbroken.

The success of these Indians who far beyond the shore's of their motherland have earned name fame and fortune and put India on the top of the world as leading business houses should speak volumes about advantages of being together as a family for not only bonds of emotions but also for growing stronger and better over generations. Seeing the success of the joint family traditions for growth, prosperity and happiness even foreigners or non Indians too have taken to this tradition and unlike Indians values of living together and thus growing stronger as a family and as professional people.

We are always reminded of our rich traditions and values from our heritage. This becomes one more reminder to splinter families in India to stick to the traditions not necessarily for money and growth but certainly for values and love and rich traditions and heritage.
