Why do
people feel helpless and land themselves in difficulty
causing inconvenience and even loss? Well again the
answer is with us only! The clear cause is people
shirk work or action due to lack of “initiative” and
applying mind. The only ground for inaction is finding
an excuse or passing the buck of action onto someone
else. “Initiative” comes through sense of
responsibility. Most of us avoid taking
responsibility, even when it is thrust on them or
happens to fall on them, People like to avoid
responsibility, keep it aside or even run away from
it. This attitude may originate from lethargy,
laziness and even lack of commitment. |

The
solution is to accept the responsibility and that too
with commitment. Once this approach is adopted you
feel motivated to take action, no matter at times, you
may take sufficient help from others. With each
responsibility there is an authority that empowers you
to get cracking with the job. |

Let's
take an example of a student who has not been regular
in his studies. Moment he knows there are exams on the
anvil and he takes responsibility, and takes authority
over himself and his time, he works hard to make up
for the missed preparation and thus “empowering self”
through responsibility, which in turns help him to
cope with the situation. Similarly in offices too,
especially the so called government or bureaucratic
style people wash their hands from responsibility.
They pose helplessness adding to hopelessness for

Today
India is marching ahead by leap and bounds. Scenario
is changing. Youngsters want to work, achieve and earn
a lot of money. They start taking responsibility for
their success and this “empowers” them to even work in
a call center for earning. The wiser among those use
the money not on flaunting brands but learning some
new skills thus acquiring knowledge of new fields for
safer and stable jobs in the main career stream. So
“empowering yourself” becomes easy. All you need is
just to own the responsibility and you can involve the
whole world to get you the results and rewards. |
