The missing link!

Many times we find we have failed to achieve, failed to deliver or even failed to pass! What's it that makes people “fail”? Let's see the elementary cause or reason and when we find it, lo, presto! We'll be able to control failure while moving towards success.

Every action is directed towards a goal or an objective e.g. a student desires to pass and earn a good score. What is his action in this direction? Generally, he studies. The process is on, yet the results are many times unsatisfactory. He blames the tough papers or even tough assessment. But the real cause is unexplored and remains unknown.

Well let's remember for any desired result, action or execution is the path, but lot depends on how far we tread the path rightly and at the right pace. Passing or even scoring is each and every student's objective, the path is study. Now how the path or process of studying is planned and executed is the key to success. Right process would be “regular schedule” of studies, but rarely one is “regular” in studies excepting the ambitious who are appearing for an entrance test or who have got admission in MBA or medicine and want to “really” complete their studies well. Barring such sincere, committed and disciplined aspirants, the rest are just pursuing preparation half-heartedly, erratically or even casually as a “ritual” or a “routine”. They take studies like a child who dresses himself like a “Batman” or “Spiderman” and starts feeling he is really ready for great stunts. Remember success is not just a child's fantasy to be cherished in imagination, but it is a concrete outcome of systematic and regular pursuit along with preparation. So the missing link in achieving success is “organized and planned” process.

Here is another example of corporates or companies with big bucks who just want to copy some other company's success. They set up a machinery to duplicate success, whereas the basic need for success is professional expertise. They spend extravagantly on promotion but what is lacking is expertise and process - with the result they burn the money to achieve “great” failure.

The mantra is that individuals as well as Corporates can ward off failure by caring to provide the missing link in their action - the great ingredient of process. Of course trained manpower is the first component of any activity followed by the right process for achieving results. So grooming people to use the right process becomes the stepping stone to success and proper process for implementation becomes the “essential link” not to be missed for definite success.
