Opportunities Today :- October 2006 Issue

Student of the Month

Young Shazia keen on careers in Airlines wanted to get good training and international qualifications. The moment her B.com exams got over, she was on the look out for a suitable institute. She attended a “Career Awareness” seminar at WTC by IHCTM Director Subhash Motwani who has the distinction of being the highest qualified person having 22 international qualifications. She was quite enlightened and she opted for 3-in-1 Airline Management Diploma.

She was quite happy to get an all round training and qualifications in both Travel and Cargo alongwith communication skills plus 2 foreign qualifications. It cost her as little as 38,000.

She completed her course in January 2005 and immediately she was sent for training with Air India from January to April. In May 2005 she appeared for an interview at WNS. There on the basis of the quality education she had at IHCTM she was selected. She worked there till July 2006. While at WNS for over a year she emailed her C.V. to Emirates. Finding her C.V. quite impressive she got a call within 2 weeks and after going through 5 rounds of interview she got this opportunity of her life for the job of Passenger Sales and Service fetching a good remuneration. Now she is all set for a take off to this higher career.

Simple, unassuring Shazia, coming from a traditional Muslim family through her guts and grit and hard work got the best of opportunity with an international carrier. She had also received a call from Jet Airways. However by that time she was selected by Emirates. Her success story is a great inspiration for the ambitious youngsters.
OT wishes her best of everything in life.

In first person - Shazia Mukadam
Course: - 3-in-1 Diploma in Airline Management
First Job:- WNS Global Services Pvt. Limited

The course helped me secure a good job with WNS despite being a fresher. During my interview, these diplomas and certificates were enough to get me this job at one go and they did not ask for any prior experience as the employers are aware of the capability developed through special teaching methods at IHCTM. This diploma also gave me an opportunity to work with Air India Cargo at the Sahar Cargo Complex which was an added advantage. The best part is that it also helped me get a job with one of the world's most reputed airlines - Emirates. In short the type of teaching and my diplomas have helped me a lot to be what I am today and of course my earlier work experience also did help. So every aspirant should work in any capacity to get some experience. I thank you all at RBCS and IHCTM.
