All About Hair Oils

Hair gets hydrated after oiling. There is shine and lustre added to hair. However there is no proof of enhanced hair growth due to oil.

Olive oil is good for oily hair. Castor and coconut oil are good for dry hair as they are heavier and more lubricating.

Try and ideally oil your hair before every shampoo as it will add shine to it.

Use warm oil. Use cotton swabs or finger tips to apply. Move in one direction. Make sections and oil the scalp. Then apply oil to mid-lengths and ends.
You can mix two oils for a better blend for e.g. olive oil + castor oil, Vitamin E + coconut
Oil helps to seal cuticle and hydrate hair, hence it helps hair which is dry + brittle

For highlighted / permed / bonded hair, avoid oiling hair for 2 weeks after the treatment. Use a serum instead, which is a type of light, non sticky oil.

For those who have dandruff mix olive oil + savlon and use it on the scalp, 20 minutes before a shampoo.
So go ahead and have a “champi”!
