Being
ambitious brings great feeling! One feels energized
and charged up for action. That's the spirit our youth
have today, though quite a few are still in their
adolescence and rocking around and looking out for
“only fun”! Let these “only fun” seekers too have an
objective for achievement, besides their moderate dose
of fun. |

While
talking of ambition, it is common observation that
most of us mix up ambition with getting more money.
Even parents and media use money as the measure of
achievement and success. We read quite often in the
daily newspapers that an MBA from IIM got the highest
package of “one crore” plus! Such news in the air
creates greater hype for “money” than it is due. As a
result money has become the measure of one's
achievement. So ambition is turned into avarice or
greed for getting more money. |
|
|
|
Money,
undoubtedly is a useful resource for life and comforts
but beyond its functional utility it becomes a
compulsive motivator for mad pursuit, even ignoring
one's basic care for self, family, health and
happiness. |

|
|
The
brand craze has propelled many to earn more money and
hence take up night shift jobs. The consequences of
such an erratic schedule has taken its toll, though a
few get adjusted to this biological disturbance. One
could certainly throw caution to the wind if there is
dire monetary need for meeting one's basic needs or
repayment of some loans. Beyond such a situation, mere
pursuit of money is a great blunder. |

Talking
of MBAs, the situation is no better. Since they draw a
high salary, they are under constant stress and strain
to meet the demands of the job. Once they are at their
desk in the morning, they do not know how long their
work will stretch. Their ambition of going higher adds
fuel to the fire. They have to do a lot of compromises
in their life, if not sacrifices. They are virtually
“sold out” to the job. In the name of ambition which
is synonymous with avarice or greed for getting more,
they switch over jobs to different companies for a
higher pay package. Corporates also try their best to
pamper them or rather prod them with perks to stretch
their working beyond their normal human capacity. So
this is what is termed as being avaricious in the
guise of being ambitious. |

Let the
discerning few take a cue and switch over to an
activity or job that helps them to LIVE RIGHT
irrespective of pay package instead of SLOGGING for
higher financial
gains. |
