Health thru' Diet Maintain (ACID ALKALINE ratio)

 

 

Human body needs 70% alkali foods and 30% acid forming foods.

Alkaline foods :

1. Tubers, roots, green leafy vegetables - All vegetables such as lettuce and leafy salad plants melons, parsley, radish, soyabeans, fresh peas, potatoes, pumpkin, spinach (highest), tomatoes, turnips, etc.
2. Fruits such as apples, almonds, apricots, coconut water, grapes, grape fruit, lemons and pineapple
3. Milk, milk-cream and cottage cheese.

 

Acid foods :

1. All cereals and grain foods like rice, wheat flour, maida, maize flour and their preparations
2. All animal foods, eggs (yolk highest) sea foods (though fish is a very healthy food).
3. Pulses, legumes and nuts except almonds
4. Tea, (not the herbal variety) coffee, colas and aerated waters, chocolates
5. Noodles, macaroni, spaghetti and farsans and white refined sugar.
6. Refined starch and refined sugars which include cakes, break biscuits, pastries, cheese and butter.

 

The Importance of Acid-Alkaline Base -
Blood is the most important fluid of our body it is the very life of our body. The nutrients form food are transmitted to the blood and circulate in all the parts of your body. Therefore, your physical and mental ability depends upon the normal alkalinity of the blood. Some amount of acid is there, but when this increases, it leads to ill health. Hence, when the body is ill, it is best to survive only on steamed and raw vegetables, fruits and their juices, soups made from vegetables (include plenty of ginger-garlic in diet together with raw onions) wheat grass juice, etc i.e. complete alkaline foods. In fact, the cure for all chronic diseases lies in keeping the blood alkaline. Alkaline diet helps reduce obesity and skin problem. It helps to maintain good health.

 

When you retain too much of the acid in your system, it hinders physical development, causes degeneration and is the main reason for diminished vitality at all ages and feeling tired all the time. It may be surprising to know that all natural deaths are result of chronic acidic condition of blood.
By maintaining acid-alkaline ratio one can not only enjoy good health but add years to one’s life also.

 

For Better Health Change Eating Habits:
Instead of acidic breakfast of bread-butter, eggs, jam, toast, biscuits, tea, coffee, switch over to the nutritious alkaline breakfast viz. one cup warm milk with a pinch of haldi and ginger paste / porridge, a few raw carrots, sprouted moongs and one fruit.

 

Lunch:
Mutton/Chicken/Fish Curry Rice at lunch are all acidic. The best solution here would be to have a plate of fresh salads and fruits too, along with the main course to make it 50% acidic and 50% alkaline.

 

Tea & Snacks:
At about 11 a.m. a glass of fresh lime water to which honey, tulsi leaves, ginger, awla powder and a little coriander may be added. Afternoon tea again should be herbal. As for snacks eat chutney/ cucumber-tomato /potato sandwich. The obese could snack carrot and cucumber in plenty.

 

Dinner:
For dinner, since masoor dal, chapatti are completely acidic, substitute one veg dish, one dal, clear veg soups, one non-veg-dish / chapatti bread and a sweet dish (optional). This type of dinner will be 50% acidic and 50% alkaline. At the end of the day you will realize that you are eating the right blend of alkaline/acidic foods i.e. 70% / 30%. Thus you will be able to enjoy good health by switching over to the right blend of alkaline / acidic foods.

 

How to prepare Herbal tea
Herbal tea can be prepared easily. Add to the boiling water, pudina, lemon grass (chai), a piece of ginger, cardamom, tulsi leaves alongwith milk and sugar. It's a refreshing way to start the day.
