Editorial 3 Stress Busters

 

In our modern life, three words are common. These are stress, strain and tension! These 3 cause constant worry, loss of peace of mind and above all, the damage to one's health and creates disharmony in our life.

The root cause is that today everyone has ambition to the letter "A" and hence, unending pursuit of activity. The success is measured, though wrongly, in terms of money. "Money at any cost" is the mantra of the day - with the result culture, love and affection have become mere words one comes across in stories or history books. Even relationships are thrown in the backseat, since money requires a single-minded mad pursuit.

Completing work, study and assignments is first and foremost on the mind, of course leaving out the filthy rich or chronic lazy ones and fun-seeking animals. The rest of us work hard and stretch our working hours to pack more in less time! Well, this lifestyle of rat-race and cat-chasing-its-own-tail is the first and only cause of all the stress, strain and tension, as well as everything else that follows. The big question is how to keep stress at bay? Here, we give you 3 words to bust the stress effectively.

 

These 3 power words are: MUST, SHOULD and MAY. They are useful for all the over-worked, slogging persons, be it a student, an office-going person - junior or senior or Neta Abhineta, not to exclude the homemakers! These simple words give you "right style of functioning". For taking help of these 3 words - Must, Should and May - firstly, list all your activities. Next identify each activity as (1) urgent and important, (2) important and (3) just to be done. Now put these 1, 2, 3 activities under heading A, B, C. Begin the day with activities under A. Next work on B. And lastly touch C, time permitting. To your delight and amazement, you'll find things happening on time and in time without any trace of stress. To implement this simple solution you must spend first 10 minutes every morning or still better, the previous evening to do this 1, 2, 3 and A, B, C listing exercise. The evening before is strongly recommended as it saves your first 10 minutes at the beginning of the day when your energy and enthusiasm are at their peak. So use these "3 stress busters" and you're a happy person ever after.
