Eyes are your most valuable asset and can add that lovely
sparkle to your looks. Give a professional Smokey-Eye look to
yourself for the night with these pointers.
A well shaped brow is the first step to creating smokey eyes. A
well defined brow opens the eye up. Once you have readied the
face with your foundation, compact and blush, here goes.....
Prepare the eye by using an eyebrow
shadow on the eyebrows and contouring them; fill in any gaps or
darken them if you have light brows. You could also extend them
if you have short brows. Do not use an eyebrow pencil as it
would give you an artificial look. Use a mix of brown and black
eye shadow powder.
Start with taking a sponge eye shadow applicator brush and a
silver or white highlighter eye shadow. Use this on the entire
socket of the eye and on the area below the eyebrow. Blend well
with fingertips. |

Now
take a dark grey eye shadow, preferably powder based and start
with a V-shaped upward movement towards the outer edge of the eye
moving towards the eyebrow in a slant. Once again blend in. Now
blend the dark grey inwards at the socket but stop when you reach
the centre of the eye. Do not extend it to the inner corner of the
eye.
Then use the same dark grey under the lower rim of the lower lid.
Use a bud to smudge the eye shadow, as it will define the smokey
look.
Now use a liquid or pencil liner on the upper lash and smudge it
again with a cotton bud.
If you have big eyes, use a kohl pencil inside the rim of the
lower lid. Do not use it if you have small eyes.
For the Finishing Touch: Put loads of black mascara to enhance
the look. |

Remember, even the best eye makeup tricks cannot make eyes look
good, if the eyes are not healthy, puffy or red-shot. Here are
some tips to get eyes looking bright naturally.
Get enough rest.
Don't overstrain your eyes.
Drink plenty of water.
Make sure you have an iron-rich diet.
Do eye exercises.
Do not smoke or drink. Stay away from pollutants and smoky areas
that can irritate the eyes.
Do not use any creams or oils under the eyes at bed time, else it
can result in puffy eyes the next morning. Use them three hours
prior to sleeping and wipe off before bedtime.
Do not rub eyes vigorously.
Wear sunglasses, so that you don't squint in the sun and get
crow’s feet around the eyes. |
