Colaba Causeway
The
Colaba Causeway (Shaheed Bhagat Singh Road) is the historical
land link between Colaba and Old Woman's Island in the city of
Mumbai. Originally constructed in1838, it has evolved into a
fusion of hues and fabrics which beckons the adventurous
shopper. The Old-Bombay architecture of the causeway complements
the numerous modern branded outlets which line the pavement. The
true charm of Colaba however, emanates from the countless
roadside stalls that display their treasures to the masses. Not
forgetting the palette, the Causeway also boasts a truly global
selection of cuisine. Literally meaning a bridge, the causeway
with its blend of cultures and nationalities truly aspires to
cross boundaries.
